Painting an Elephant - Real Time Watercolor Painting

Hi there! Hope you are doing great. Here is a real time watercolor painting video of an extremely studious elephant....who loves to party too. I am loving wo...

Hey there! How are you? I rarely ever paint real time painting videos because I love to paint and I’m indecisive at times so those things translate into long videos. So here is a short painting video where there is no talking or anything in the background so you can paint with me, draw with me or just take a moment to chill and watch.

It’s meditative for me to hear the water, move the brush around and make beautiful watercolor washes. You can get the same benefits from watching, very calming. Definitely let me know which one you did!

Something I shared with my patrons and I love doing at the moment is getting a darker value watercolor wash, painting with it and then quickly dipping in my water to dilute the wash/value and then painting with that to get my lighter value. I usually paint in the opposite way with a lighter value and then drop in a darker wash/pigment into that lighter wash to get my shadows, etc. Learning with watercolor is endless and I adore the process. Reminds me of photography, just another nugget to put in your back pocket and that turns into your style over time. Find what you love and throw away the rest….or just put it to the side for now. :)

I shared this insight with my patrons last month and you can learn more about how to become a patron at www.patreon.com/fluximagery.

Hope you have a great day!

Erika
