Short-timer's disease is my best-friend right now. Getting through this last week in my old position is tough, I just want to jump into my new role and start learning. I've been enjoying the downtime and filling it up with everything I can.
Last night a friend of mine called me and told me about an event I should go to. Claudia Cangilla McAdam (Author) and Anna-Maria Crum (Illustrator) were speaking at a local library that evening and I went to check it out. Claudia beautifully read two of her published children's books while the pages of the books were shown on a projector. The merging of illustration with photography in Maria's Mysterious Mission was very well done. Seeing the process of how their ideas became successful and award winning books was inspiring. The photographer's work featured in their books is John Fielder. I was tuckered out by the end of it but I am so glad I went.
