Librarian in Training

I love the library! There, I said it. It is friggin awesome! I have been wanting to learn crochet (I learned as a kid but it doesn't really count) and The Happy Hooker has been mentioned everywhere. When I flipped through the patterns there was just too much I would never make. A cowboy hat? A skirt? My friend mentions the library and in two days I have it! I need to read up on RAW processing of photographs in Adobe CS, checked the library and they had it. Then I got curious about this book that was mentioned on Oprah when she was doing the Debt Diet series. That has got to be the most beneficial thing she has ever done on that show, in my opinion. The book is called, Not Buying It: My Year Without Shopping. Now after seeing the review on BN I'm not so sure I'll like it. I think my original search was for Amazon. I guess I'm mostly curious how someone can make a major change like that and what goes through their mind. Just like when I watch fashion makeover shows where the person says, "I only spend $40 a year on clothes." How is that possible?! So yup, I'm interested.

Hmm, what else. Oh! I want to bake cookies this year so I tried to remember any sites I went to that had some delicious cookies on them. I searched and found a book called Big Fat Cookies by Elinor Klivans. I've heard nothing but good things and I'll be sure to say if they were a success or not. I think I'll make the double baked chocolate chip cookies first.

I just remembered times when a book had to be very old until it was in the library and that's just not the case anymore.

This is going to be a crafty Christmas.
