It was a success!  So many rainbows and so little time.  For Addison's third birthday the theme was a rainbow party so I went a little wild.  I painted the invitations with a rainbow in two jars and sent those out.  She had a My Little Ponies Rainbow Dash balloon.  The funfetti cupcakes (my favorite, must have cream cheese frosting on top too) had rainbow cups.  My mom made her traditional peach punch which everyone loves.  She's a mama so no real measuring, but here are the ingredients: ginger ale, peaches (cut with the skin on), ice and CountryTime lemonade mix.

Pinterest came in handy with some DIY projects.  I made a rainbow balloon arch that turned out great and still looks good after almost a week.  For treat bags, I got rainbow twizzlers, made them into arches and put Rolo candies on the bottom too.  I hope Addy continues to let me do theme parties for awhile longer.  I was worn out but Addy was happy with her party so it was all good!

Also, on my latest YouTube (fluximagery) video I had a secret giveaway if you read the description box.  It was even international!  It's closed now and the winner is.......Vicki S!  I'll reach out to you on Instagram to find out what 5x7 print you'd like.

Have a great weekend and hopefully a long one if you are in the states, it's Memorial Day on Monday here.

And Then She Was One.

Our munchkin is officially one-years-old.  Can you believe it?  I can't.  This year has been one of the most memorable years of our lives.  I didn't think we would ever get to this point where we can sleep like we used to and slowly get back to a sense of a routine.  Addison is the most amazing little person.  She is so funny, smart and beautiful.  We get lost in her big dark brown eyes every day. So lucky and so blessed to call her our daughter.  Somebody pinch me.

We planned her party for weeks and I wanted everything to go perfectly.  Some things did like her handmade wooden Happy Birthday sign (inspired from this one), her cake, the venue, the friends, etc.  Some things did not, like the pouf decorations that I scrapped because I could not figure out how pouf them up.  No biggie. The theme was "Some Bunny is turning one" but it was tough to find bunny things, even though I started looking way before and during Easter.

She was the little hostess with the mostest. At first it took her a little while to warm up to everyone, I was concerned about that when I planned the guest list.  But she got over it pretty quickly and was soon "talking" to everyone and mingling about.

For the drinks I got some white peaches, CountryTime lemonade mix and seltzer water.  I made my mom the mixologist and the end result was a hit.  Very refreshing and delicious!

We got her all stripped down for the cake but she just played in it with her hands.  Not that surprising since she killed my sweet tooth when I was pregnant with her.  She isn't a huge fan of sweets...yet.

Baby girl passed out while we were cleaning up, so that's a sign of a great party to me.  We love you Addy, happy bday!

The Big O-N-E

The planning for Addison's first birthday has started and I'm trying to determine what kind of planner I want to be.  How much DIY projects and what will her bday traditions be?  I was researching online and there were so many planning lists.  One of the items on a list was "don't compete with other moms" and that was comforting to read.  I am a busy person and so is Raul so I am constantly checking in with myself about whether what I want to do is for A's special day or am I trying to compete with another mom out there. There will be some DIY projects and I'm excited to see them finished.  Everything can't be created from scratch though and I'm okay with that.

Did you learn a lot from your baby's first birthday? Anything you would do differently? I'm all ears.

P.S. Where did the time go?  I can't believe she will have been here for a year in just a few more weeks.
