Inktober 2017 - Inking with Watercolor

It's that time again, Inktober is coming up!  This will be the third year that I'm taking part in this inking challenge and I'm excited.  I don't want to put too much pressure on myself so I may stock up images or post daily, mix it up.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, watch this video where I talk about all of the inking supplies I'm planning on using in October.  Finding inks that work with watercolors is important to me so most of the inks (india inks) mentioned check that box.

My top 3 must haves are the following but watch the whole video to see everything:

Dr. Ph Martin's Black Star Matte India Ink

Zig Cartoonist Pen Holder

Brause Pen Nib

Are you participating?  Let me know!

Today is the 20th day of Inktober and I'm 20 weeks this week (half-way mark!).  I wasn't sure if I could draw every day but so far so good and I want to continue past October.  It is such a good practice to maintain.

I'm still kicking this cold, turned sinus infection, turned cold again.  I bought some probiotics (kefir and yogurt), hoping those help.  No way am I doing sauerkraut.  This was the first year we couldn't make it out to the mountains to see the leaves change but there are plenty here to look at too.

The colors are gorgeous, the leaves fall much too quickly.

There is a yearly drawing event called Inktober (#inktober) and it's going on the entire month of October.  The participants grab whatever drawing tool that uses ink and go for it with an Inktober drawing.  It doesn't have to be daily, it can be anything you like.  It's not too late to join either, come draw with me!

I didn't have a daily goal but so far I've made a drawing every day.  We'll see how long I can keep this up.  I love the art community and having little challenges like this.

Giving me yet another kick in the pants that I sorely need. You should follow me on Twitter or Instagram, I always post them there.
