Blessed Girl with an iMac

I've been working on a 15 inch Powerbook laptop for four years now.  My first mac and I don't think I'll ever go back.  It was time to upgrade so here she is!  Einstein 2, hehe.  (There's a little peek at the blue accent wall in the study).

I went for it and got the 24 inch.  I don't regret it one bit, this extra real estate already feels wonderful and I haven't even made any illustrations on it yet.

I am blessed indeed.  Best Friday ever!

This by far made my day brighter because the theme of today was about to be "Phase Two of Name Change Hades".  Either I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box or getting your name changed is a difficult process.  Probably the first is correct.  So far I've changed my SS card and other places won't accept that proof at all.  So I need to get a new driver's license stat.  I went to the DMV yesterday and even though the website says all they need is my SS card, they also needed my marriage license or certified copy.  So I had to come back today.  Of course it was packed but I had planned on it and was equipped with my Shape magazine plus a photography book.

So when it's my turn to come up I have everything and I'm ready to get 'er done.  Then the lady says, "Oh, it looks like you had a lot of tickets in the past", (1999, I was a shaky start with the whole driving thing), "and since you are still within 10 years, you are going to have to take a written test again".  I was sweating bullets and not prepared at all for a test.  I ended up passing thank God!  I had no idea things changed so much since I got my license because now: a) you don't get your new license right then and there, you get a big white paper placard that is supposed to be your temporary license, b) you get your new license in the mail within 30 days and c) your license only lasts five years.  Used to be 10.  If I hadn't made any changes my license wouldn't have expired until 2013.

Crazy I tell ya.  So yea, the iMac brightened my day big time.
