Knitting Again?

Gimmie Gimmie

I’m getting the urge to be crafty again and this is not the time.

I used to be heavily into knitting. Selling my knitted items helped me get the camera I own now. I used to religiously follow sites like Knitty, Brooklyn Tweed and fluffa. Now I just pop in and peek every now and then.

Jay, my friend who is organizing the photography meetups, is using So I was curious to see if there were any knitting groups on there since it seems the groups I once knew disbanned. Quickly I saw there was one on Wednesday but I was too chicken to go. Motorcycle Diaries beat out the knitting group and I have so much yarn in my stash, it’s not even funny.

So whenever I do start a knitting project again, I have to use that yarn or my stash is just going to grow out of control and take over my place. It’s tempting with projects being posted all over the place like this Gumball Kitty.

This is the warmest November I can remember. It’s wonderful, not complaining at all.

Peace and Quiet

I’ve never been lucky with neighbors. The one I have down below me was okay for awhile but lately she’s lost it.

She decides to vacuum at 3 in the morning. Likes to wake up at 7 a.m. or earlier on the weekend and immediately crank Jill Scott’s new cd. How do I know it’s that cd you ask? Because I can hear the words, it’s that loud.

I absolutely can not wait to buy a house with my guy. I will cherish not having someone above or below me. It will be ours together (we each own a condo), and it will be fantastic.

I Wish

Gimmie Gimmie

…today was Saturday.

….this weird sinus congestion thing would go away.

…the ceremony and reception site were booked right now.

…I knew how to read different languages so I could make cute amigurumi like this.

…we were on our Caribbean (caps or no caps?) honeymoon right now.

…I was at the mall so I could try on this ring.

…I was a knitting daredevil so I could make dope things like this.

Ahh, I could wish forever.

Hot Hot Hot

Carolyne, Raul’s niece

Nothing like blowing bubbles in the hot sun. My left side is much darker than my right from being scorched by the sun while driving ! It’s crazy hot outside and it’s not even summer yet.

I’ve been looking everywhere for just the right skincare combo and I’m almost there. I’ve settled for Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer after trying department store brands with anti-aging this and regenerating that. Now my skin is acting better but I’m still concerned about sun damage.

So far I’ve tried and ruled out Aveeno, Peter Thomas Roth and Oil of Olay. There was a thread over at Not Martha I read a long time ago and I’m waiting for my Anthelios SPF by La Roche-Posay. Plus, anything else I try to use on my face as far as make-up goes is just bad news. Not trying to use a foundation on okie doke skin, just to break out from it and make my okie doke skin just horrible. One of my biggest concerns about the wedding is looking crazy at it. I barely wear make-up. Just fill in my brows, blush and some mascara. Trying to find foundation for black skin is a headache and a half.

Anywho, the spf has received a bunch of good reviews so we’ll see. What are you using? Inquiring minds need to know.

Ten thousand views at flickr. I love that place.

Oh yea, and I’m still learning how RSS feeds work.  I have a habit of posting and then tweaking and re-posting.  Does that mean you get bombarded by updates or no?  Just curious.

A Whole New World

Gimmie Gimmie, Photography

Today I shot with a Canon 20D for the first time and I’ll never be the same.

I need a new camera, now. I have already been thinking about it non-stop and today I had the opportunity to shoot with one ALL day. Not good, not good at all. Now my interest is peaked even more and I have expenses, remember the wedding we’re planning? Yea, not good at all.

We had a “Bring Your Child to Work Day” and the kids were adorable and so sweet. I ran down for my first break and my photography friend on my team had brought in his 20D and a camcorder. After some talking and negotiations, I was able to go and shoot the event.

Now I really want a new body, a new lens (preferably a 24-70mm f 2.8), a vertical grip, and a hood.

Talk about wetting one’s appetite. I’m in big trouble now.
