New Channel and a New Print!

2
Etsy, Handmade, Illustrations, Process, Video

I’ve been a busy girl over here trying to figure out how to record and edit video on my iPad. I set up my YouTube channel, fluximagery, (like and subscribe!) and two videos are published so far. I’ll show more works in progress in the future. There is no sound because that part was driving me insane with copyright infringement and all that.

One day I will have sound on my videos, mark my words. If you have any feedback, leave me a comment, I would love it.

Also, this print is now available in my Etsy shop right here.

On Repeat

One of the things I’ve always wanted to do was design patterns.  Which is pretty odd because wearing patterns scares me.  I know big prints overwhelm and other cardinal rules like that but I usually steer clear and just stick with basics.  I took yet another Skillshare class (love!) and it was excellent.  I just worked out my first digital pattern because of my love of juicing my green juice and I’m pleased with how it turned out!  There is a LOT of adjusting involved with this so where the repeat isn’t obvious and you get a good flow.  It is incessant but necessary, just a little warning.

I am going to submit it to Spoonflower so I can have it available there and maybe there will be a pair of sister pants made for Addy and her little sister?  I hope so, so excited.

I wonder what I should make into a pattern next.

Winter Bunnies

I think I have sweaters and all things winter on the brain because I’m not wearing these items myself.  I’m in full maternity gear but form fitting and representing the bump.  My bunnies and bears get all the fun this season….and all the bulk.

Now available in my shop.

Chart It Out.

I have never completed a color chart.  I have made the little color wheel with primary, secondary, etc but that doesn’t count.  This week I finished a full color chart using all of the colors in my pan, 22.  It took days but I highly recommend you do it.  All of the color combinations, from just two colors each, blew my mind.  All of the greens and blues alone is enough reason to do this.  I have taken online classes where the teachers discouraged buying green and now I can really see why.  The rainbow of warm and cool greens you can get from mixing are endless and rich.

Such a great exercise.  It’s a little like learning to type.  First you are pecking at the keys because you aren’t sure where they are but eventually you have the keyboard memorized (in this case watercolors) and it is just one more thing to do to get you more comfortable.  I used this tutorial for mine.

Do it too and come back and share here.  You can do it, I can’t wait to see!  :)

Bookwhale

Book Worm, Etsy, Handmade, Illustrations, Process

I’m sure you have heard of bookworms, but have you heard of bookwhales?  They are a real little subculture and so interesting.  These particular whales gather in their cozy knits and talk about their favorite stories.

They chit chat when they attend their weekly book clubs of course.  Fascinating.

This cute little guy is available in my shop.

I would love it if you would say hi, comments are my favorite.  Have a great day!
