New Chapter

Tomorrow we are going to spend some time with my newest niece and nephew, Carolyne and Nicky. The kids and their mom are going on a road trip to meet up with their dad in Canada. Their family is reuniting and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Have a safe journey and we will come visit soon. I’ll get to shoot in Seattle and Canada, woo hooo!

My first capoeira class is tomorrow and my friend says to get ready for plenty of hot baths. Apparently it’s no joke. With all of the moving, hanging out and overtime, I’ve kicked my Buff Brides routine to the wayside. Time to make up for that.

Can’t wait!

I still have my Canon Digital Rebel.

Again.

After another repair I have my old camera back in my disappointed hands. I read the fine print of the warranty with the supervisor and after the third repair and fourth service, I can get my camera exchanged. So goodbye to that taboo, it’s over. Old camera for awhile but it should break again before January 13, 2009 when my extended warranty expires.

When Raul and I got home, he went straight to the xbox and I went straight outside to shoot around. The shots look okay.

But the 40D would have been mighty nice. Mighty nice indeed.

Alright, so my friend Angela is going away.  We met two years ago in art class and now she’s leaving.  She’s moving back to Korea, says she’s just visiting, but when she comes back she isn’t moving back to Colorado. So either way I lose my friend.  I stole as much of her time as I could before she goes away on Sunday but it wasn’t long enough.  Dinner at Sushi Den was delicious.  We scored by getting a window seat and kept taking across the table pics before we lost the sun.  There was even a double rainbow.   The next day her friends had a going away party at CB and Potts.

So much greasy crazy food and beer.  My stomach was killing me for the rest of the night, but it was worth it.

I’ll miss you tons Angela.

There was a little fashion event tonight called “The Fashion Project”. Tonight was free and it was a little introductory about what to expect and a chance to meet the designers competing. Twelve designers compete every Wednesday for four weeks in fashion challenges. There is a winner but no one gets eliminated. All proceeds go to Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that helps women who were on drugs, homeless, etc get back on their feet. They provide business attire and equip them with the tools they need to get a job and have a better future.

It was great and there was a surprise challenge where the designers had to create in five minutes with just one piece of fabric and a little box of goodies. Phenomenal. Now I’m itching to see more. Good work Brandi.

On another note, I’m going to go away for a little bit. Not sure how long but I keep getting sidetracked with shooting and sharing. Shouldn’t be too long of a hiatus.

I hope you’re here when I get back.

I’m a very happy girl because my teeny tiny painting came today. Allison is so damn talented. Thank you!

Saw 300, didn’t like it. They bit Gladiator, Braveheart, and Minority Report. Nice abs though.

I’m still not completely well, this thing is hanging on for dear life. It hasn’t stopped me from working out though so I’m proud. Reminds me, can’t forget strength training today. I bought 8 lb weights just for this occasion.

My last appointment with my reflexologist was on Friday. Man it was nice but now it’s over. I have some foot exercises to practice now. Strengthening my muscles all over is a goal of mine. I asked one of the therapists what I might be doing to cause my alignment to get out of wack. Anything pulling on one side: carrying a purse (necessary!), camera (necessary!), computer (necessary!), sitting on my leg (bad news), etc. I’ve been conscious of sitting on my legs but the other stuff, ugh.

I love this beautiful weather. It was rainy but I didn’t care. I usually hate the rain but after all of the snow, I welcomed the rain. Poor little worms though, they didn’t see it coming.

Oh, and I helped a friend paint this weekend. I have no clue how to paint but it turns out I’ve learned a thing or two from my parents. They are always on top of their house, repairs, and renovations. While everyone else was cleaning outside and manning their other projects, I trekked to Home Depot for paint, primer, all the fix ins. I came back with 2 gallons of antique white paint, 1 gallon of primer, painter’s tape, a huge sponge, extra fuzzy rollers. Aw yea. Some is primed but there’s more to do. This weekend should be tons of fun.

And lastly, my friend Tracey is going to be a momma. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. She rocks.

How you doin’?

Why Hello!

Spring is here! The cold is 99.9 percent gone and I’ve been working out. Happy belated St. Patty’s Day! My friend’s birthday is the day after so we partied it up on the holiday. Our whole group wasn’t representing in green. We’re rebels. But delicious steaks and cheesy mashed potatoes were consumed. Later we headed to a lounge bar and danced to a few songs and clinked some glasses.

Sunday was all about lounging around. A really good movie to check out is The Prestige. I LOVED it. Next will probably be 300.

Dancing…with the Stars is usually my show but I don’t know about this season. Not all that impressed at all. Ian Ziering brings back memories though, lol. LOST is losing me a little with every show. Not enough answers are coming quickly enough for me.

Back to work, my brain is back and I can work on projects finally. Good night.
